Console Monster at the Game Horizon Conference 2013 Day 2

The sun shined brightly on the Sage glass for the start of Day 2 of the conference. I arrived early inNewcastleand headed for the hangover breakfast (from last night’s drinking, thisdefinitelyfelt like it was a hangover). Then everything settled and the final day of the event began. The first person to take the stage was a young independent developer and graduate student AlistairAitcheson. He is famous for the Greedy Bankers game for iOS and even won a gold award from Pocket Gamer. Greedy Bankers is also released in over61 countries.

Next up to take the helm was the Bafta award winnerBarry Meade the founder of Fireproof studios. The studio has worked with many clients that include;Black Rockstudios, Playground Games and many more and have worked on the Burnout series. The studio decided to take a different route and created an iOS game called ” The Room”. This was then followed by a casual break before the next speakers took the stage.

The final speaker of the day was Dan Bilson. Now Dan was the former vice president of THQ (shall not go further into that problem), but his speech was brilliant and if you want to catch it you can on the Game Horizon website where all the other videos are from the conference. The day ended with a BBQ and free drinks and then i was time to head home. So after the 2 days at the event it hastrulybeen an amazing time for me and i can not wait for the next event to go to.
