Sony has announced an indefinite delay to the release of its Pulse Elevate wireless speakers, less than a week before their planned global launch. The postponement was confirmed in an update posted on the PlayStation Blog on 6 November, after quality testing revealed a production issue affecting the product.
The Pulse Elevate speakers, originally scheduled for release on 12 November, had already opened for pre-orders in September. Sony’s statement made clear there is currently no revised launch date and that the delay is intended to ensure the speakers meet the company’s quality standards.
Impact on Pre-orders and Availability
Details remain unclear regarding the status of existing pre-orders, with Sony yet to provide further guidance on how these will be handled. The speakers were expected to be sold worldwide, with a Midnight Black colour variant available globally and a limited White option for markets including the UK.
The Pulse Elevate lineup was introduced in September 2025 as Sony’s first wireless speakers targeting desktop gaming setups. Compatible with PlayStation 5, PC, Mac, and PlayStation Portal through PlayStation Link, the speakers also support Bluetooth pairing with smartphones. They feature an integrated microphone on the right speaker that utilises AI-enhanced noise rejection technology.
Integration with PlayStation Hardware and Accessories
Pulse Elevate complements Sony’s existing Pulse hardware range, which includes the Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore earbuds. The speakers were priced at £199.99 ($219.99). Sony also revealed alongside the speakers a 27-inch gaming monitor, which is set for release exclusively in the US and Japan.
Sony’s update emphasised the company’s commitment to delivering the intended user experience, reiterating that the delay is necessary to resolve the production challenges discovered late in the manufacturing process. Players interested in the Pulse Elevate speakers will need to await further announcements regarding the resumption of sales.
