Epic Games has spoken out about the recent leak of a Gears of War 3 torrent than has found it’s way online in the past few days. The leak seemed to have originated from someone called ‘Anonymous360’ (sound familiar anyone?), within a few short hours it had reached numerous websites and was being downloaded at an astonishing rate.
This was all terrible news for Epic and they rceently told Gamespot, “We have seen the reports of Gears of War 3 content being propped on the web and [we are] working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation. This content is not from a final build and is not representative of what fans will enjoy when the game launches worldwide on September 20, 2011.”
As reported before the version downloaded was littered with glitches, the only saving grace for Epic is that there is no way to get these pirated versions online. We just hope that they get the situation resolved quickly and it doesn’t affect the release of the full build version of the game.
