Just Cause 2 has slipped back to 2009, Eidos has told Eurogamer. No indication of a release window was given however.

Avalanche Studios who develop the game are ensuring that Just Cause 2 is a major development of the original which suffered from being bland.

Side-missions are to go and will be replaced by chaos activities, rewarding those who destruct things naturally. Other ideas will be implemented that the community has come up with.

Reworked enemy AI, a lock-on targeting system and bigger guns will feature. We reviewed the original back in 2006 and said: “If you are after a single player game that will keep you occupied for a couple of weeks go and buy this game. If you’re looking for something which has a lot of replay value this might not be for you. If your undecided then you best bet is to rent the game.” It was given 75% by Toby who we scared off along time ago!
