Bungie have been expressing their disappointment after Microsoft decided to ‘can’ an announcement regarding a new Halo game at the last minute.
A countdown on the Bungie website was highly tipped to be a countdown to the game announcement which was supposed to happen at the Microsoft Press Conference.
However at the last minute Microsoft decided to shake things up and remove the announcement from the show. The Xbox 360 boss, Don Mattrick confirmed things changed in an interview with MTV Multiplayer.
He said that Bungie are making a new Halo game, one which won’t be Halo Wars or the Peter Jackson title. He went on to state that it was held back from the conference because the briefing was already “loaded” with content
Announcements are still to be planned for both the new Halo game and Halo Wars at a later date and we think that Leipzig could be the place for that when the Games Convention hits town in September.
You can read a roundup of what happened at the conference here.
