Lips: Number One Hits to have no achievements

Lips Number One Hits, the sequel to Lips which launched last year, will feature no new achievements on the disc.

Instead a bonus 250 Gamerscore will be on offer from the original Lips game including ones specific to features within the new game

Previously all retail releases were told to contain a full 1000 Gamerscore points by Microsoft, heralding it the first full-priced release to feature only a limited amount and in conjunction with the original game.

The game is out on Friday and will feature a 'hot-swap' disc option for those with the old game and all DLC will be compatiable with the new version. It also features improved local leaderboards and technology as well as brand new streamlined menus.

We'll have a full review for you soon.

Meanwhile tell us below if you feel Lips Number One Hits SHOULD contain 1000 Gamerscore.

Realy annoyed about this too guys. Was looking forward to this game but will give it a miss now. Surely it should just have been released as a DLC package for the first game if this is the way they are going with the achievements. Seems like because this is a Microsoft developed game they can change the rules (a bit like when Halo 3 was first to bump up the allowed added gamerscore!). If another 3rd party developer had said they were releasing a full retail game with no achievement would that have been allowed? I doubt it! At the very least the game should be released at a budget price point to compensate for this (say £14.99?). Seems like a big mistake on Microsofts part, they know how popular achievements have become and I can see a move like this having a negative effect on sales for this game. They have lost my day one purchase anyway, the only way I'll get this now is from the bargain bins in a few months time.

It's a poor state of affairs if people are going to boycott a game because there's hardly any achievements for it. Whatever happened to playing a game for bloody fun? The points are of no consequence and what should matter is what's on the game disc.
