Free Xbox Live on three titles
Written by Rob Rymond

If you are the proud owner of Shadowrun, Universe at War: Earth Assault or Lost Planet: Colonies, then you could be enjoying free Xbox Live multiplayer on these titles.

Microsoft has accidentally let silver members of Xbox Live play these titles after they dropped the Games For Windows Live charge last week, which has now made these cross-platform titles free for PC gamers.

No comment has been made yet from Microsoft, but they are expected to make a statement later today.

You can help support the site by purchasing Shadowrun from Play.com. Click here and we will take you directly to the game's page at Play.com where you can buy or pre-order this game today!

This is a great idea. MS should open the gates for all games that lack a large user-base to match up with. It's a favor to both silver & gold members. If it turns out that they revert this change because it was accidental, they won't be helping anyone. Who's going to sign up for a full Live account just to play these games?

i don't think live should be free not that it would'nt be good tho... but maybe they should consider reducing the price for a year

You can buy £25 subs online so essentially you can buy them cheap from the right places and I think this represents decent value. For that you get a good online service and downloads, though I feel some of the paid stuff should be free.
