You gotta be careful with these early reviews.

Usually they are biased to a degree, simply because they got the game so early - they're "pressured" to give a good score.

I'm not saying that's the case here, just I'm always a bit weary of the early reviews.

Plus: I've never agreed on a "perfect" score, there is ALWAYS something to improve on - that's why we have a score out of 100, gives you more scope.

And you are also the one that could be spunking £40 up the wall if its crap. I prefer a demo over any review but if there are none available then its off to trawl the net for online reviews prior to purchase.

Hmm.. well we'll just have to disagree on percentages. I can appreciate the difference between a 3 star and 4 star film, and most people would agree on the score it was given. I defy anyone to tell the difference between a game or film being rated 76% or 77%. It's completely meaningless.

Personal taste means you could always find someone prepared to give any game a top score, and someone prepared to give it a low score. You simply cannot be accurate to a mark out of 100 to something that is so subjective.

Mark a multiple choice test out of 100 by all means, but if you were to visit an art gallery and mark the paintings, or read a number of different novels, you would easily be able to mark your opinions out of 5, 10 would be harder, and out of 100 would be near impossible. Plus the more detailed the scoring, the less it will relate to other peoples' opinions - ironically the more accurate the score is, the more personal and less useful to others it becomes.

Personally I think there should be no score, but then people would actually have to read the review, which is obviously an absurd idea ;)

Yeah but it didn't get a 5 star rating, it got a 10/10 numerical score, which means that there was nothing wrong with it. If hotels were given a percentage score, I highly doubt any of them would 100%, because there is always something to work on, even if it's finicky.

This is what Im saying about the scoring - its not necessarily that he score is wrong, it's just that it's depicting that the game was absolutely spot on in every single degree. Whereas I'm sure there was at least one negative, albeit small, that would of put the game down to maybe a 9.9/10 but then obviously u just round it up.

I'm just saying a percentage score is more precise. Maybe I'm just being picky- and at the end of the day, it's only my opinion - just like this review is only one man's opinion, if he thinks it deserved a 10/10, who am I to judge? I've never played it :)

Wow - how did that happen - I edited my original post, not added a new one.

Oh well - I'm sure you get my drift, sorry about that :)

tbh, im not shocked at all that it got 10/10. Its from an official source and they got the extra downloadable content. Obviously they are going to blow the games trumphet (if that makes any sense) So that it sells more on the 360!
