Kotaku’s community speak out about their experiences with the Xbox360’s backward compatibility. Jordan Lund went through his collection of Xbox titles and tested them on his Xbox 360. “Some titles worked better than others, not everything supported 16:9 on my television and I was stuck with 4:3” said Jordan, he concluded “Only 15 of my 55 games (27.27%) actually were backwards compatible and some of those 15 had errors.”

The Good
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth – Works – 4:3 – Opening Cinema is glitched and doesn’t work. The rest of them and the game seem to function fine.
Crimson Skies – Works – 4:3 – Live DLC said controller not plugged in, pressing A cleared the error.
Dead or Alive 3 – Works – 16:9 – Left analog stick fails for movement, must use D-Pad.
Deathrow – Works – 16:9.
Fable – Works – 4:3 – Audio glitches in opening.
Grand Theft Auto III – Works – 16:9
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – Works – 16:9
Halo – Works – 4:3
Halo 2 – Works – 16:9 – Live DLC said controller not plugged in, pressing A cleared the error.
Jade Empire Limited Edition – Works – 4:3, Bonus disc does NOT work.
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System – Works – 4:3.
Ninja Gaiden Black – Works – 16:9 (Opening logo has no sound?).
