After months, possibly years of speculation about World of Warcraft coming to console, it’s finally been confirmed by Blizzard today. The MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) will be coming to the XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3 mid-2009. Chris Sigaty, a producer at Blizzard said: “After the success of World of Warcraft on PC, it seemed stupid not to bring it to consoles.”

Along with the announcement, Blizzard also released an image of the box cover “likely” to be used when the game is released in 2009. Sigaty continued: “The console version is not a direct port of the PC version; the game will be possible to play using a standard XBOX 360 or PlayStation 3 pad.”
