We all know the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) isn’t exactly a gamers paradise but while some are introducing new, grotesque LCD displays and others are a no-show, Microsoft’s booth is the place to be if you happen to be a gamer like us. Besides showing off their “iPod killer” and upcoming eye-candy OS Windows Vista (heavily I might add), there are some game kiosk available waiting for avid gamers to take control of.
Games like Lost Planet, Guitar Hero 2, Def Jam: Icon, Viva Pinata and of course, Gears of War (no, really?) were showcased amongst others on the Xbox 360s. A couple of Xbox Live Arcade titles made their way to some diplays as well, including upcoming titles such as Worms and Ms. Pac-Man. And since Windows Vista promises to be the most game-friendly OS yet, Halo 2, Crisis and Bizarre’s mathematical masterpiece and/or royal pain in the butt (for all of us who can’t pass the 100k mark because we kaboom a bunch of times before that) Geometry Wars also had their spot on the floor amongst others.
Once again, Microsoft seems to know when and how to boost their lead in the next-gen (“new-gen” now apparently) war. Every time an opportunity presents itself, the one and only Peter Moore & Co. are right there, holding the white box high, letting people know that all they need in their living-room from now on, is in fact such a white box.
