Sony Releases PlayStation Evolution Videos Pre-Feb 20th Event

With only a few days left to go until the main event, taking place in New York on the 20th February at 6pm EST, Sony has been oiling the marketing & hype cogs with the release of, currently, two “Evolution of PlayStation” videos on their YouTube Channel.

The first, released on 15 Feb and titled “The Beginning”, whisks us back to the mid 1990’s and the release of the first PlayStation and the DualShock Controller.

The Begining – PlayStation One

In the second video, released on 16th Feb and cunningly titled “PlayStation 2”, we look at the success of their second console, its early networking capabilities that came later in its lifespan and the EyeToy camera, which offered some pre-Kinect motion control capabilities in its games.

PlayStation 2

With three days left to go, I can only assume that we’ll get a few more videos releasing in the coming days for the PlayStation Portable (PSP), PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 as Sony moisten us all up for the rumored (but probably true) announcement of their next-generation console – the PlayStation Something or Other.
