Monstrous Day One Patch For Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Halo: The Master Chief Collection brings together the first four full Halo games, with Halo 2 having gone under the knife and had a total remaster for its 10th anniversary. Halo has played a massive part in shaping the landscape of multiplayer over the last decade, throughout the last two console generations, and so it’s a great boon to anyone who neglected to indulge in the full experience last time around that they’ll be able to play through the landmark series on current-gen hardware.

The game has, today, gone gold, and is generally set for a simultaneous worldwide release on November 11th, with Belgium’s release delayed until November 12th, Japan’s until the 13th and the French release set for November 14th. The big news that’s raised a few eyebrows, however, is the heads up from devs 343 that the content had spilled over the 45GB capacity of a blu-ray disk, so players should expect a 20GB day-one patch. This means installation could be a little more of a trial than previously expected.

343 have stated that during the installation, the campaigns will open up, so whilst the additional twenty gigs come down from the sky, there’s four whole campaigns to sink your teeth into.
