The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition has been priced by HMV, the only retailer selling the one-of-a-kind packages. HMV secured exclusive rights to the sale of the Prestige Edition, which is “only available online from HMV.com and will not be available to buy in any HMV stores.”
The Prestige Edition, featuring the game, an art book, steel book casing, the original Call of Duty for the Xbox Live Arcade/PlayStation Network and some night vision goggles, is priced at £120, £40 more than our estimation. You can view the Xbox 360 edition here, and the PlayStation 3 edition here.
If the Prestige Edition is out of your price range, the Hardened edition is your next option, pricing in at a pretty hefty £69.99. Fortunately, this will be available at all good retailers so it’s worth keeping an eye on retailers before making an order. The Hardened edition contains all the contents of the Prestige Edition, minus the night vision goggles.
Though, if you want to save your pennies and just purchase the game itself, it appears it could cost you more than you might expect. After the RRP was increased to £54.99, the majority of retailers are listing the title at £44.99. Fortunately, a quick trip to Console Monster’s Bargain Basement could save you a bit more cash.
