The Modern Warfare 2 leaderboards will be reset in the run up to the launch of the game on 10th November.
Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling tweeted:
“It definitely looks like a full leaderboard / level reset is in order just before the release date to ensure no unfair advantages”.
MW2 has already being plagued by leaked copies filtering into the retail system in countries like France as well as pirated versions on torrent websites.
Some users have already received banning orders from Xbox Live thanks to new technology which can help filter out the pirate players.
