FIFA 15 and Advanced Warfare among best-selling entertainment releases of 2014

FIFA 15 and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare were among the best-selling entertainment releases for 2014, according to data released by the Entertainment Retailers Association.

Unsurprisingly, Disney’s hit film “Frozen” placed in first, having sold over 4 million copies throughout the year. EA’s FIFA 15 placed in second with 2.5 million units, whilst Activision’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare managed 1.8 units.

Other video games to feature in the top 20 include Grand Theft Auto V, Destiny and Watch Dogs.

The full list (based on retail sales) is as follows:

1. Frozen – Disney (4,012,676 units sold)
2. FIFA 15 – EA (2,663,296 units sold)
3. Call of Duty: Advance Warfare – Activision Blizzard (1,837,025 units sold)
4. Ed Sheeran’s X –Warner Music (1,753,226 units sold)
5. The Hobbit: The Desolution of Smaug – Warner Home Video (1,550,635 units sold)
6. Grand Theft Auto V – Rockstar (1,341,472 units sold)
7. Sam Smith’s In the Lonely Hour – Universal Music (1,296,295 units sold)
8. The LEGO Movie –Warner Home Video (1,092,486 units sold)
9. The Hunger Games – Catching Fire – Elevation Sales (1,078,911 units sold)
10. Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie – Universal Pictures (1,056,960 units sold)
11. Now That’s What I Call Music 89 – Sony Music/Universal Music (999,201 units sold)
12. Guardians of the Galaxy – Walt Disney Studios (992,818 units sold)
13. Frozen Soundtrack – Universal Music (974,067 units sold)
14. Destiny – Activision Blizzard (937,235 units sold)
15. Gravity – Warner Home Video (915, 355 units sold)
16. The Wolf of Wall Street – Universal Pictures (888,621)
