EA Want 11 vs 11 Multiplayer for FIFA in 2010

In an interview with Eurogamer, FIFA 08 producer Joe Booth has stated that EA Sports are looking at the possibility of including 11 vs 11 multiplayer in the 2010 World Cup edition of the game. The idea is to get the 11 best players in every country to compete in a “Virtual World Cup”.

“In the long term we have big plans. We’d like for the 2010 World Cup to have a virtual World Cup at the same time, and build an organisation in each territory that finds the best 11 players and flies them out to South Africa, and have a full-on tournament there.”

The first step towards this goal is a new mode called “Be a Pro” which allows you to play as one player on the field. You’ll be rewarded for your performance based on your contributions to the entire team.

Look out for more on FIFA 08 between now and it’s Q4 release date.
