Codemasters has announced a new additoin to its DiRT franchise, titledDiRT Showdown. Coming to consoles in May 2012, DiRT Showdown has players performing arena-based stunts and taking part in demolition derby races.
It is probably best not to think of this as DiRT 4, more of a 3.5, rinsing what is already a stellar engine and changing the racing model to a more simpliar one thatappeals to a wider audience. So there is good and bad things to come from this.
Lets just hope the core soul of the DiRT franchise isn’t lost here and this doesn’t end up being a diluted, quick cashin letdown.
