Some of you may not remember the 64DD, but it is undoubtedly one of the most obscure pieces of kit from the big N.
This add-on for the Nintendo 64 sold only 15,000 units, with 85,000 units supposedly scrapped. This means that finding the unit itself can be quite a task, particularly if you’re after one in good nick. Even harder to find is the unit with a complete set of games, but that is exactly what is on offer in an auction from UK eBay seller golly_75.
The auction comes complete with a Japenese Nintendo 64, the 64DD Randnet Starter Kit (which consists of the 64DD unit, Nintendo 64 Modem, Randnet browser disk, modem cable, and N64 Memory Expansion Pak), an N64 keyboard, and the following games:
F-Zero X with the expansion kit.
SimCity 64.
Mario Artist: Paint Studio, with Nintendo 64 Mouse.
Mario Artist: Polygon Studio.
Mario Artist: Talent Studio, with capture cartridge and microphone.
Mario Artist: Communication Kit.
Japan Pro Golf Tour 64 (factory sealed).
Kyojin no Doshin 1 (Doshin the Giant).
Kyojin no Doshin Kaihou Sensen Chibikko Chikko Daishuugou (Doshin the Giant 2: More than a Giant).
This is quite the collectors set, especially when you consider that some of those games are incredibly rare, with only 10,000 copies of Japan Pro Golf Tour 64 and 3,000 copies of Kyojin no Doshin Kaihou Sensen Chibikko Chikko Daishuugou ever made.
The top bid on this amazing collection is at £460 at the time of writing.
