A new Call of Duty is on the way, Activision have confirmed. Call of Duty 5 will be set in a new military theatre with releases on the PS3, Xbox 360 and this time a Wii version as well.
The news arrived after a conference where Activision discussed its latest financial results. The CEO Mike Griffith told people: “We’ll bring the intensity of the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title to a new military theatre, to engage our significantly larger user base which nearly doubled last year as new users came into the franchise.”
They also confirmed that the Call of Duty 4 engine will be used for the new James Bond movie tie-in which is due out in the Autumn alongside the new film, Quantum of Solace. No news on a release date, but expect it sometime in 2009 probably.
Call of Duty 4 was recently knocked from the top spot on the Xbox Live charts and our Anthony loved it so much he said: “If more of the same is expected in the future – bring on CoD5!”. Your wish is granted then…
