The release of The Beatles: Rock Band will not be affected by the death of Michael Jackson, Harmonix has told us.
The developer told IGN that there is no chance the song list will be compromised.
The reason as to why it could have been is that MJ owned most of the back catalouge of Beatles songs when he acquired the rights to 267 of them in 1985. It cost him $47.5 million at the time and he outbid Paul McCartney in the process.
His label ATV then merged with Sony Music after ten years, which granted him 50 per cent of the new label. It is unknown however how much of the song rights the Jackson Estate now owns, as he used the songs and rights to acquire bank loans running into millions.
Either way, the game is not affected and will be on course for a 9th September release for both PS3 and 360.
