The new Banjo Kazooie will see a new focus on vehicles mixed with some platform elements it has been revealed. Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts will allow you to create vehicles with parts that you find round levels in the world of Showdown Town.
Although the game will retain the traditional platform elements offered to N64 gamers albeit scaled down somewhat, the focus will be on vehicles and building them. Some of those on offer include a four-wheeled kart, a hovercraft, monster truck and a glider.
Rare have been keen not to create a fully based high-definition Banjo game and so have opted for this change. A total of 1,600 parts will be on offer for you to collect including weapons, all of which attach to the vehicles. The tradional ‘jiggy’ pieces will also feature; a throwback to the old titles.
The town of Showdown is sixteen times larger than any world Rare have created previously and each level will have a different intro with the Nutty Acres level adopting an 80’s soap opera theme like Dallas. The notes will also make a re-appearence and will act as currency for vehicle blu-prints. Each level (six in all) will have fifteen challenges with a variety of side missions as well.
We’ll find out more from the Microsoft Conference tomorrow and shall bring you the details then. However what are your thoughts on the new emphasis for Banjo? Post your comments below…
