Assassin’s Creed film dated for December 2016

The Assassin’s Creed film will release in December 2016, Twentieth Century Fox has announced.

The studio, who is producing the film alongside Ubisoft, revealed that the adaptation of the video game will launch in cinemas on Wednesday, December 21st, 2016.

Michael Fassbender has already been confirmed as a star in the film, with Justin Kurzel on board as director.

The film was originally expected to launch in August 2015, though was delayed due to “several rewrites” and “scheduling issues”.
