EA has formally announced that a 2010 FIFA World Cup game is being developed.
It comes as no surprise though, following previous World Cup and Euro installments down the years including the last World Cup game in 2006 as our Russ (now presumed dead?) reviewed way back in the depths of history.
FIFA is now a completely different brand to back then though and we have high expectations for the World Cup title this time around. It’ll be out on all formats as usual.
Unique modes for 360 and PS3 gamers though will be the online World Cup, where you will battle it out against other ‘real’ players to be crowned the greatest team in the world (or not).
In-line with some of the more exotic stadia which will be located in some very ‘high’ places, players will be affected by altitude and will suffer from breathlessness (hopefully not dropping dead in the process!) and this will also affect how the ball flies.
Despite the World Cup featuring a handful of the greatest teams, we are promised 199 teams in total that took part in qualification as well plus all 10 stadiums being used in South Africa – an impressive number.
It is still early days though, expect more on this throughout the next few months.
Tell us below if you think the content should be DLC for FIFA 10 instead?
