Twenty years has shown us a lot, but this year in particular marks the 20th anniversary for the best selling American football game of all time - Madden.
Will he or won’t he?
Metal Gear Solid 4 was a hit across most of its fan base. MGS4 did a good job of answering a lot of questions at its end, however, there is still going to be the idea of a possible new Metal Gear or Hideo Kojima creation being made in the future. Kojima sat down with website Kikizo and explains his thought process: "I say frankly, on a private level, that I always intend to stay true to these statements; I do always say what I actually feel at that time, after each Metal Gear, when I say I am going to move on to the next project.
The World’s Most Sold game (so far) this year
The NPD Group, GfK Chart-Track Limited and Enterbrain have come together to release the Top Global Markets Report. It is the first report to combine point-of-sales data for video game sales across the three major video game world markets: the U.S., U.K., and Japan.
Fallout 3 release date
Bethesda has announced a release date for its highly anticipated Fallout 3. It will be coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 28th in North America and three days later will be released in Europe.
New LEGO Batman character announced
It has been announced that LEGO Batman will have a new character. In addition to Batman, Robin and other Gotham city favorites, Batgirl will also make her debut in a LEGO Gotham City. She will also be able to have some of Batman's gadgets such as the Glide Suit and Sonic Suit.
EA Games President wants more focus for online content
EA Games President, Frank Gibeau was interviewed by CNET recently and commented on two "jobs" that EA needs to partake very soon. The first "job" is keeping quality "talent", like artists and developers, at the forefront of projects. The second, and more applicable for this articles is to “move to an online model as fast as [it] possibly can.” Gibeu had this to say regarding online gaming and EA: "If you look at our customers' behavior patterns, you're seeing them engaging with fully connected experiences.
EA wants to be HUGE

PS3 and Wii will be the two
Former SCEE President Chris Deering, who was speaking at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival today, has made a bold prediction stating that Sony will catch up with Nintendo and share a joint victory for this generation of gaming. He claims that this will have Microsoft bringing up the rear in third place. The year 2011 is when he says this will all begin to crystalize. Deering didn't just come to this conclusion on his own. He has been looking at Screen Digest IDG data, the growth of hi-def markets, and the "grey gamer" markets. He has also taken into account game engine and Wi-Fi expansion. Deering is claiming that the install hardware base will rise from 316 million to 500 million over the next three years; and the combination of Sony and Nintendo will lead to two "big mega-powers." His outlook for Microsoft is much lower. He is stating that Xbox 360 will enjoy a "decent" growth with an install base of 40 million by 2011. For comparisons sake; Deering has posed numbers for other game systems as well; 150 million DS units installed, 80 million Wiis, 70 million PS3s, 90 million PS2s and another 70 million PSPs.
BioShock for PS3 get’s a twist
People who own PS3 may be wondering what extras they will get with the upcoming PS3 version of BioShock. As of today, there has been news of a new difficulty setting for the PS3 version of the game.
Wii Motion Plus will be “not that much”
If you haven't heard by now, Nintendo is planning on releasing Wii Motion Plus. Essentially this will make the motion sensor's for the Wii-motes that much better. There are concerns, however, that since this isnt' an update and is something you have to buy that it will be expensive. Satoru Iwata says fear not, it should be cheap: "There will be games that will be enhanced by the Wii Motion Plus as well as games that can only be played with it.
