Last couple of days have been manic and Ubisoft have been keeping me busy by parading me around Montreal before we flew back to the UK. I didn't have time to do a day 3 blog while I was there and I thought while I am slowly transcribing Q&A's I would get one out!
We left the hotel around 8:30 in the morning and arrived at Ubisoft's beautiful and absolutely massive Montreal studio! We got a small tour of the studio, saw places where they record audio, created the game and ate food. We couldn't take many pictures due to several secret unannounced projects going on and the company was very secretive and secure about everything. A security guard patrolled during the day as well as certain employees only having key cards that accessed certain rooms.
After the small tour we were lead to one of the lower floors into a room full of Assassin's Creed 2 posters and debug units. Here we got a Q&A session with Sebastian Puel, producer for AC2, and got some proper hands on time with the game. A good 4 hours I managed and I also got a nice look at the PSP and DS versions that are being worked on, the DS version looked the most promising.
I am still waiting on a few photos but will pop them up as soon as they become available, the day was amazing and the game is well... you'll have to wait for my preview but to cut the story short: amazing! Keep an eye on Consolemonster.com for the preview as well as more blogs in this ubi portal.
I'm embargoed so there really isn't much I can say about these too games right now. Well, I can tell you that both of them look amazing. While I didn't get any hands on time with Splinter Cell: Conviction, we did get to see a good portion being played. It's a lot more action based this time around but all I can say is that stealth fans should not be disappointed.
Did get some hands on time with AVATAR which looks incredible. While the build I played didn't let me tweak the rather slow right analogue stick set up I seemed to have, it played well and it was fantastic to finally get some actual hands on time with it. Ahh! So frustrating that there is not really much I can say right now.
Today will be filled with Assassin's Creed II, a 4 hour hands on slot and some Q&A sessions. Should be a great day, I'm not sure if I am looking forward to tonight's party however. Think it is going to hurt~
This is just quick blog to let everyone know I arrived in Canada safely. I am staying at the rather nice looking Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Montreal. The flight was an easy going 7 hours 30, thankfully I had my netbook for finishing up my King of Fighters XII review (check that out soon!!) and my PSP for some delicious DJ MAX Clazziquai action!
It's not that cold here but it's hit around 5°C right now, so getting chilly! No snow yet but I am being told I should expect some.
It's currently 4am UK time and midnight Canadian time and I have been up for quite a while now, so my body is starting to crash!
So far there are 4 of us here plus the wonderful Korina from Ubisoft, we all went out for some delicious steak and some cheeky drinks before crashing into bed. I thought I would get this posted quick before I head into bed.
All I know about tomorrow is that we will be checking out Splinter Cell: Conviction and AVATAR with the day after being dedicated to a big Assassin's Creed II fan day. I'm quite excited to check out Conviction and Avatar after hearing about its warm welcome at the Eurogamer expo in Leeds.
Anyway I am off to attempt to sleep. Stay classy monsters~
My most played game this month was Batman: Arkham Asylum which I have only had for 3 days. 21 hours of Batman goodness totally dominated my 18 hours of competitive screaming in Call of Duty 4. It's actually quite scary how quick this month has gone and how I've played such a range of titles.
From Uno to Left 4 Dead, August has been a busy for playing everything and anything! If you like, you can read how much I adored Shadow Complex by clicking that link. I was lucky to review it this month and it's really worth your time. I am planning to go back to it and get all the items at some point but Batman: AA arrived 3 days ago and took over my weekend.
I also got back into Halo 3 and Rock Band, 2 games I secretly love but suck at so I hide them away. I can do the singing, it's just my fingers don't enjoy the guitar layout and I really struggle to switch from blue to orange during tough songs. I can do medium though, and right now that is enough for me!
What else? Oh! I've finally finished up my work on an Aion [PC] blog I was commissioned to do. Playing an MMORPG is hard work and very time demanding. It's been a long time since I've really dedicated the hours into one. To round it all off I played a few hours of Dj Max Portable on my PSP. If there is one music game I can do, that is it!
Batman review is on its way sometime this week, so keep an eye out for that. As always check out my twitter for constant updates!

Check out that swag collection I managed to rustle up at a codemasters press event I went to on Friday. Happiest about the Operation Flashpoint 2 poster I asked for which shall be donning the walls of my Uni room in a few day.
The event was at a nice Hotel in London, 2 minutes walk from Oxford Circus. The games were Dirt 2 and Operation Flashpoint 2, sadly I have an NDA and can’t talk in detail about either until the 11th but I’ll just say that both are fantastic games so far. Even though I am not a fan of the more hardcore driving games (ie anything but burnout or outrun) Dirt 2 looked very promising and certainly beautiful.
Operation Flashpoint 2 was an explosion of hardcore shooting in my pants! I know I am going to struggle and my Call of Duty run and gun attitude will be pushed to the limit but the fact this game requires such a high degree of team work is really attractive. The visual style and handling are so amazing, I can’t get over how excited I was playing the title.
Met some really nice people from Future, gamerlimit, soldier magazine and more. Saw Dan from Inside Xbox and I also got interviewed by Tamer from incgamers, so keep an eye out for that as I’ll post it when it goes online.
If anyone wants a Damnation shirt and some Dirt 2 stickers, let me know in the comments. As always check me out on twitter.
