Unrivalled 2D action adventure gameplay and atmosphere with a huge castle to explore, full of countless secrets. Depth, beauty, charm, well emulated and with a decent price tag.
It lacks the extra content of the Saturn version, and some compression artifacts remain in the voices. The 360's d-pad lets it down, although the stick will do for most people.

2D action-adventure fans get a shot in the arm with a conversion of Konami’s masterful 1997 re-invention of the Castlevania series into a fusion of classic 2D action platforming, Super Metroid inspired exploration and RPG depth. With it’s exquisite graphics, moody yet bizarrely funky soundtrack and so-bad-it’s-good voice acting, Symphony of the Night breaks the 50mb limit for the first time, with style as well as substance.
