Atari have today announced that Test Drive Unlimited will retail at $39.95 in the US, a full $20 less than regular Xbox 360 games. Currently, it's unknown if the game will retail at a lower price in the UK and Europe.
Not only that, but Atari said that it will be releasing monthly downloadable car packs through the Marketplace. The packs are set to include 6 or more new cars for the game and new radio stations to listen to while crusing around Oahu.
Bruno Bonnell, Chairman, CEO and Chief Creative Officer of Atari said:
"Innovation should be available to everyone, not a privilege for those can afford high price tags, Our GamersFirst program demonstrated the positive impact of flexibility
in pricing. We believe it is our mission to deliver triple-A games that
are accessible to the masses. As such, we are offering Test Drive
Unlimited - a game that is being positively touted and recognized by
the media - for $39.95, and furthermore, will continue users'
experiences past launch by featuring new cars and free music for
download."
