Finally, the Call of Duty Elite service is free to all gamers meaning no extra cost for the Elite features. You'll still be able to purchase a DLC Black Ops II Season Pass priced at 4000MS Points, which will give you all four map packs consisting of multiplayer maps and zombie content.

The four packs can also be purchased seperately for 1200MS Points as and when it is released, however it has been warned that the content 'may not be available on all gaming platforms'. Read into that as you will.

So back to the free elite, what features does this give you exactly?

  • Player HQ: Game statistics including enhanced match information such as heat maps and recent match data. Players can modify their classes using Treyarch's new 'Pick 10 Create-a-Class' system.
  • Clan HQ: Join an existing clan or start your own, invite friends and then take part in Call of Duty: Black Ops II clan competitions.
  • Zombies Support: Players can track Zombie statistics and compare it to other players' around the world.
  • Call of Duty Elite TV: Launching with tablet support with Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the new Call of Duty Elite TV will deliver a renewed community focus featuring developer tips and strategy programming, custom class overviews and more.
Here's the Elite trailer to tease you further.
