Microsoft celebrates Thanksgiving with some reductions

Microsoft has unveiled a series of Deal of the Weeks as it is something called Thanksgiving over the pond. So for one week only we have three deals to take advantage of.

Up first is Peggle which is reduced from 800 MS Points to 400 MS Points (£3.40 in old money). You can read our David's impressions in our review. He rated it highly, so there is no excuse to not have this in your collection.

A second arcade treat is on offer in the form of Death Thank, reduced from 1200 MS Points down to just 800 MS Points (£6.80). Our Thomas was also impressed with the game back in February as you can see in his review. His negatives were price, so perhaps this will be more wallet friendly now.

Finally, some DLC in the form of Fable II: Back To The Future which our David gave 75% in his review. A little short but perhaps worth 400 MS Points, down from 560 MS Points.

Reduced xbox consoles, reduced games, reduced downloads??? Tells me that Microsoft is getting a bit desperate and worried about Sony and the PS3 that it's basically throwing xboxes away!!! Sure they might use this as an excuse being thanksgiving I guess. Still charging for xbox live too AND yet banning million users?? Hhhmmmm just remains to suggest Microsoft and xbox are going down down down just like nintendo. What's gonna save it now? Project Natal aka spazzing urself around like a downsyndrome window licker!!! Dont make me laugh.

When the ***** will Microsoft just advertise online content etc with bloody pound signs instead of gay points!!!??? 800 points = um I can't be *****ed to work that out so I won't bother buying it. Listen PS3 fanboy assholes. I have an Xbox 360, ps3, and wii, and honestly....Xbox rules for gaming. Ps3 has it\'s good points like Killzone, Uncharted and Little Big Planet, but most the time I only use my ps3 for watching blu-ray and I don\'t use my Wii at all! As for the free PSN network, all I can say is with Xbox Live you get what you pay for! Stop bitching and accept the fact that you all suck!

Desperate Micro is a bit of a misguided fool. Isn't it PS3's that have had a huge price cut recently? Console wars is so 80's.

I had the 360, had the ps3 since early 08, I have a gaming PC, and have had the wii since late 07. I know how these consoles work. anyone who has all consoles can tell you that the ps3 is the best console. At least with pan you get dedicated servers. Xbox live barely has any and they don't have it on there big exclusives like halo, gears, forza, etc. You pretty much pay to lag on the actual online gameplay. Everyone on psn is getting almost everything everyone on xbox live has. Psn got netflix, might get that sky player in the future, and it was announced that party chat would come to psn. with that "stop bitching and accept the fact that you all suck" comment you sound biased towards the ps3.

Therebel your one big ps3 fagboy. No console tops another you idiot. Xbox with better online and games ps3 with blue ray free online and ok games every once in awhile like uncharted. The majorty of people have 360 and wiis why who knows. Ps3 just needs to step it up more and they are with the ps3 slim.

WTF are u talking about? I'm not disputing the fact that PS3 is a better system. The xbox red ring of death and lack of blu-ray are just two features off the top of my head that make xbox an inferior system. What I said was 'xbox rules for gaming', which currently it does! Also as much as we ALL hate paying for xbox live, Microsoft have clearly invested a lot of money in their development of online services and hands down provide a better experience. The debate surroundin la is a completely different topic!

xbox doesn't rule for gaming. Now you can say the online experience is better but, that's only because of the features they have on it. The gaming part of it is kinda good and bad. The lack of dedicated servers ruin games. Just look at gears of war 2 when it lags. don't get me wrong, It's a good game online but, when it lags it just makes the online suck. Same with star ocean 4. Another thing that is horrible is the immature people on there. Just look how bad it is when you talk to the people who are in the actual. The 360 version of modern warfare 2 is being criticised because of the fact that people are saying racial slurs, vulgarities, etc. It's not a good community. There is no problem with that on the ps3 version. Psn has dedicated servers on most games which makes the online experience better. Xbox live has better features, not better online gameplay

I don't know where u r sourcing your info, but I have never found lag a real problem on xbox live, only once every so often! Did you ever stop to think that maybe the lag problem is less of a problem on PS3 because of how small the PS3 community is compared with xbox! Also most lag issues are closer related to individual gamer connection speeds than server overload. The servers try to keep all players in sync and if you get one player with a poor connection it causes issues for all! I stand by my original comments and of course you are welcome to yours; however I get the feeling you are relaying second-hand info you over heard somewhere rather than thinking for yourself!

I'm with you on this one brother - very good points u made about the ps3 and psn being superior. Everyone heed therebels "FACTS" pls and just stop kidding urselfs and lying to urselves. It's simple; sell ur 360 and get a ps3. Job done

how big the community for the online has nothing to do with lag issues. P2p servers is the reason why xbox live lags a lot. If the host of the particular game has a bad connection everyone will lag. It doesn't matter if you have the best connection in the world, you will lag because sometimes you won't be the host of the game your playing. Even you state it yourself. All p2p servers need, is one player with a bad connection so that everyone will lag. Psn mostly has dedicated servers. Dedicated servers are from Sony. Every ps3 exclusive has them and some multi platform games. Think about it. Why do you think M.A.G is gonna be exclusive to the ps3?(Other than the DVD format) it's because Sony can supply dedicated servers. Now, dedicated servers aren't lagless but, it rarely lags.

Well Therebel you seem to know a lot more about how it all works than I do.....but the day I find myself sitting at my laptop researching online gaming connection protocol will be the day I kill myself!!! You make it sound like the lag problem makes xbox live unplayable, when in reality like I said, I personally don't get too much of a problem and still find it a very enjoyable experience! Until the day comes that there is a real reason to switch formats completely, I will stick with xbox for gaming :D

no the lag doesn't make it unplayable but, it sometimes just ruins the experience. When it doesn't lag it's great but, if it does it's awful.

I actually found more people on the psn that throw around racial slurs and profanity. It doesn't bother me, but I don't think you can say that one has a better community than another based on that. I'm sure it is more truthfully equal on both. But don't mind reason, flame away and continue the "console wars"....
