Modern Warfare 2 street date broken

The worlds most anticipated game ever, quite possibly, is to launch at one minute past midnight tonight.

However some retailers have broken the street date in usual fashion with American retailer GameStop breaking the street date "in select markets".

Corporate communication for GameStop, Chris Olivera, told Kotaku:

"Our decision followed many conversations with Activision and was an effort to protect our customer base."

Of course some GameStop stores are in the UK, but we've had no confirmation if they broke the street date as of yet.

Meanwhile, The Hut and Lovefilm did admit to breaking the street date after dispatching by 1st Class Royal Mail on Thursday after they were advised to with the impending postal strikes. This was then cancelled, with most retailers opting for a courier service instead for the game.

There is a slight buzz about the country right now, and from 12.01am, most GAME, Gamestation and select HMV stores will open for the occasion.

Well they said it was coming by courier, mine isn't here yet may have told the couriers to hold it back until tomorrow.

We got kicked out of gamestop because we popped bottles of champagne and was spraying everyone... Then I came home and blacked out and woke up when I pissed my pants

Anyone that did get mw2 ps3 early would have there trophy whereas I didn't so I'll be waiting for the patch b4 I start. I tried the firstlevel but it didn't fill right without the trophys. Patch for invites Friday, is there any problems on the xbox

Trophys not workin on it!!! Street day broke game is aswell!! Not 2 panic tho jus jus don't install the patch wen u start then u got trophys! If u installed it jus delete n start it again wivout installing it then u got trophys n then wen u nxt go on it install the update n presto u got trophys and update workin don't w8 4 them t piss about fixin it
