PS3 Firmware v3.0 is Online

The latest firmware for Sony's PS3, patch version 3.0, is now available now to download to your console.

Apart from the new PS3 Slim logo being added, there are also dynamic themes, store shortcuts, date, clock and messages bar and all sorts of wonderful extras. You can get the more gritty details from a previous post or check out the walkthrough video above.

Update is fine. They removed that useless ticker and relaced it with a clock, a note indicating if you have any friends online and messages. Friends list is easier to read now; names are placed on a colored banner which sticks out against the background. Much easier to read.

The update is nice, it's free and it didn't hurt anything. Just a lot of little tweaks and plugs. Overall, it's good.
