With the music game genre growing an ever more tuneful note to players' ears, and the types of music available in such games expanding, it was only a matter of time before we saw a game that goes a bit like...DJ Hero.

The next item to be stationed in already-crowded gamers' bedrooms.

Now the game has been confirmed for this year by Activision honcho, Bobby Kotick, we're ready to look forward to long stretches of carpal tunnel syndrome, infinite rage and general angst about how "I hit that note!".

Kotick: "We have this product called DJ Hero coming out later this year"

What is good to see is the ingenuity and innovation that Activision-owned company, FreeStyleGames, are bringing to the gaming scene and surely we can look forward to leaps like this in future games. Symphonic Hero, anyone?
