LittleBigPlanet has received a last minute delay due to references to the Qu'ran in the background of one of the songs featured in the game.

The highly awaited title was due to be launched next week (24th October), however Sony have announced that the game will now go on sale on the 14th November instead.

The recall will apply for every single copy of the game worldwide, which equals alot of games and alot of money lost for Sony on what will be a big Christmas blockbuster for the company.

"During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur'an," Sony said in a statement tonight.

"We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused."

The music featured on the Swinging Safari level is to blame with the first 30 seconds having the offensive words. Yet despite it being a relatively minor detail, millions of copies will now be thrown away.
