A promotion by Electronic Arts to celebrate the release of Mercenaries 2: World in Flames has turned sour this morning after motorists queued at a petrol filling station.
The Last Stop garage located in Finsbury Park, North London has being decked out in army colours and barrels and EA are giving away £20,000 worth of petrol for free to customers.
However the giveaway has prompted angry scenes as more than 150 customers had taken up the offer by 7.30am BST this morning. Drivers are allowed to put up to £40 of fuel in for the princely sum of nothing.
As the promotion continued this morning, more and more customers were turning out to recieve free fuel resulting in traffic queues and angry rush-hour commuters with both sides of the road blocked. Security staff have been drafted in to deal with the rowdy customers.
Local residents have complained about the promotion saying it has caused 'unnecessary problems' in the area. Have you been able to get free petrol from the garage? Tell us below.
