Gears 2 to feature 'linked achievements'

Gears of War 2 will feature 'linked achievements'; a first for an Xbox 360 title. The news was confirmed at the Comic-Con event which is taking place at the moment.

For those who owned the original 360 game and have unlocked achievements; players will be able to unlock items in Gears of War 2 depending on what they achieved in the first game.

The confirmed unlockables include:

- Complete Act One in Gears of War, unlock a playable Anthony Carmine in Gears of War 2
- Find 10 COG tags in Gears of War, unlock Minh Young Kim in Gears of War 2
- Kill Raam in Gears of War, unlock a playable Raam in Gears of War 2

Depending on the success of this between Gears of War and Gears of War 2, developers may include this feature in the future on other titles that form part of a series of games. We'll keep you informed on developments.
