Nintendo has stated they are"working to find a solution" for those gamers who are running out of storage space on the Wii console. Many gamers both casual and hardcore have complained after downloading a number of Virtual Console and WiiWare titles that they are struggling to find space to store them.

"We have a consumer base who loves Virtual Console. We have a user-base who really is enjoying WiiWare content. So for us really our challenge really is how do we satisfy all these consumers who are loving all of the product we make available on a download basis?" said Reggie Fils-Aime, the boss of Nintendo of America who was speaking to MTV Multiplayer.

He went on to add that all the new additions were "just making this challenge tougher and tougher". "So in our view this is becoming much more of a mainstream problem, which is why we have a sense of urgency to solve it."

The console has an internal memory of 512MB, a paltry amount compared to that of the PS3 and Xbox 360. However gamers can store files on a SD card of which some are now avaliable at up to 8GB (though the console supports up to 2GB).
