Super Stardust HD is one of the first games to support the new Trophy system for the PS3 which was released today in the 2.4 Firmware update, thanks to a patch released earlier.

At just over 255MB the patch adds 17 trophies. Bronze ones are given out for completing campaigns, silver for achievements like collecting tokens and gold for obtaining the 10x score multplier or surviving co-op.

Burnout Paradise will also support the trophy system, though it won't be released in the "Cagney Update" which will be released on 10th July. Uncharted Drakes Fortune will also be another title to support the recent achievements.

It won't be mandatory for trophy support unlike the 360's achievements, but many developers have promised to include them including games such as Buzz! Quiz TV, LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm Pacific Rift, NBA 09, PAIN, PixelJunk Eden, Resistance 2, SOCOM: Confrontation and Warhawk.

I was hoping MGS 4 would support these trophies but not so far by the looks of it.
