Xbox to go portable

Xbox to go portable

Published On March 20, 2006 | By Russ Clow | News

It was today announced by mercurynews.com that Microsoft are working on a handheld version of an Xbox, which will directly “battle” with the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS in the hand-held market.

As of now, details are very sketchy as to what the portable hand-held will look like, or do – but we do know that the portable console will combine games, movies and music in one hand-held device. The hand-held is being developed by some of Microsoft’s leading video game console developers, including the famous J Allard and Greg Gibson who both worked on the Xbox 360 and Bryan Lee, Xbox’s finance chief.

What do you think of the idea? Can Microsoft muscle in on an already very strong and successful gaming console genre again? Could Microsoft even get close to Sony’s stunning PSP and Nintendo’s revolutionary DS? Post your comments below, and then finish them off in our forums!
