Xbox stops HD DVD add on

Published On February 24, 2008 | By Jeremy White | News

Xbox has officially stopped the production of the HD DVD add on for the Xbox 360. As you may know many retailers and publishers have began to pull away from HD DVD and move toward Blu Ray. Since Toshiba shut down the production of HD DVD’s that all but made the decision for Microsoft to stop the production of the add on.

Even though the HD DVD add on is being discontinued, Microsoft states that they will provide standard product and warranty support for the add on. Microsoft claims that although the format war seems to be over, it doesn’t have a significant impact on Xbox 360’s business.

To all those who recently bought HD DVD’s and the HD DVD add on for Xbox 360, my sympathies.
