Xbox 360 sales reach 28 million

Sales worldwide of the Xbox 360 have reached a staggering 28 million.

Microsoft executive Aaron Greenberg spoke to the LA Times, saying: “This was the best year in the history of the Xbox, despite the tough economy.”

Greenberg stated that the the 360 is ‘widening [the] lead against PlayStation 3’. He puts it down to some incredibly strong titles in 2008 with Gears of War and Left 4 Dead boosting sales during the last quarter. The success of Xbox Live has seen 17 million subscribers worldwide. Not good for those wanting a new Gamertag!

Xbox Live sales, you know those things with Microsoft Points are up by 84 per cent. Even the author of this news article invested in some Microsoft Points in 2008, something he hadn’t done so since launch.
