Grab your magnifying glass, your tweed Sherlock Holmes cap and smoking pipe, as it is time to go hunting for the 5 Unlock the Achievement images that have been discretely scattered around this very website.

Today Console Monster joins together with a large group of other Xbox 360 community websites for the Unlock the Achievement scavenger hunt, a competition where you can win prizes for yourself and support a charity in the process. Read on for a little more detail below.

Unlock the Achievement is one of the largest Internet-based scavenger hunts in the entire history of the world, ever! With more than four dozen outlets involved and some sweet prizes for those who participate, Unlock the Achievement is bound to put smiles on the face of many.

The premise is simple: locate as many hidden achievements as you possibly can on the websites below (each website has five) and you’ll increase your odds of winning prizes. The top 100 on the leaderboard at the conclusion on Sunday night win prizes, it’s the simple.

What’s better than that? Win prizes, by simply visiting your favourite Xbox 360 sites and locating secret achievements! Start unlocking today!

The event aims to provide a charity with games to play. A care package will be arriving in Tennessee to support the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. With the help of Gaming4Others, and the participating sites and sponsors, a donation of 100+ games will be wrapped up and given away to children during a party at the hospital.

So keep an eye out for these 5 Icons (left – this isn’t one of them, it’s not going to be THAT easy 🙂 that are spread around our website and forum. For further information on the event and to sign up, visit the Unlock the Achievement website at http://www.unlocktheachievement.com.

Happy hunting!!
