Ubisoft has responded to accusations suggesting that it deliberately downgraded the PS4 version of Assassin’s Creed Unity to achieve parity with the Xbox One.

The allegations, the publisher insists, simply aren’t true.

The accusations follow a report on VideoGamer last night revealing that both thePS4 and Xbox One versions will run at 900p/30fps, a decision Ubisoft made to “avoid debates” according to senior producer Vincent Pontbriand.

“We understand how Senior Producer Vincent Pontbriand’s quotes have been misinterpreted,” Ubisoft said in a statement provided toKotaku. “To set the record straight, we did not lower the specs for Assassin’s Creed Unity to account for any one system over the other.”
