Sony Plan to Dominate Asian Markets Before Releasing Vita TV in the West
In an interview with SCE President Andrew House, Sony is aiming to dominate the Asian ‘under TV’ markets before coming to the West.
Google’s Chromecast and Apple TV are Sony’s main competitors to its Vita TV console and it is in the Asian markets where neither are holding good ground. So it is Sony’s chance to shine with releases of the Vita TV in Japan, and possibly China too (with its home console restrictions).
This will also give Sony time to clear the backlog of unsold Vitas, which will be even more of struggle with an announced new and improved version of the handheld.
