Sony have announced a new service for the PlayStation Network, similar to the Xbox Live Marketplace. The new service contains movies and television programmes for users to download in SD and HD. It will take approximately one hour to download a full two hour SD movie, though you can stream the movie/television programme as you download.

Full movies are priced at around $14.99 and rentals are around $2.99. The service launches later today (Tuesday 15th July) in America. It is not yet known whether the service will be available anywhere else when it is launched.
