Vincent Scheurer, a lawyer specialising in video game contracts, today spoke at a developer conference in Brighton regarding possible bans on some games in the UK. Scheurer mentioned the Manhunt 2 ban confusion from around this time last year and went on to talk about 2K Game’s Bioshock 2 saying:

“The costs of the Manhunt 2 ban to Rockstar were massive – an independent developer would be out of business. The next game to be banned could be Bioshock 2, and then where would we be? It makes the business of making games that much harder.”

Scheurer also mentioned the possibility of Call of Duty and the original Bioshock receiving a ban under the same category as Manhunt 2. What do you think of the possible banning of games such as Bioshock and even Call of Duty? Would you likely to import the game from elsewhere in Europe? Leave a comment with your thoughts.
