Don’t panic just yet! IGN have claimed that a reliable source has indicated that at next month’s Spike TV Video Game Awards there will be some type of Gears of War experience with Kinect support unveiled. There are no more specifics to go with this, meaning it could be added support for Gears of War 3, a new Gears of War all together, not a Gears of War but a similar game, or simply a rumour with an unreliable reliable source.
Cliffy B has already been quick to jump on the rumour over at his Twitter by stating: “No Kinect in Gears of War 3”, so that’s one of four possible outcomes already nailed.
Whilst it’s easy to have a sudden urge of panic when imagining a hardcore offering being designed with Kinect in mind, it doesn’t have to be all bad. A hardcore title, particularly a shooter, could benefit very well from having enhancements from some of Kinect’s features such as voice recognition or the ability to peer by a head tilt.
