PlayStation 3 owners can now download the latest Firmware 2.40 update for their consoles. As reported earlier this week this update addresses one of the much requested features for the PS3, the in-game XMB. This new functionality lets gamers read and send messages, check up on what their buddies are currently playing as well as listen to music in game, all while in-game or surfing the web. On top of this Sony has released Trophies to the feature line-up, with a handful of titles already offering Trophy support.

So what are you waiting for, fire that Console up and get your self updating!

We’ll bring you our thoughts on this update as well as Trophy coverage in the coming weeks.
