Project Gray Company finally revealed

At EA’s Studio Showcase event in San Francisco, the company finally took the lid off Project Gray Company, a next-gen only title that, until now, was only known by the name. The game’s real name is Lord of the Rings: The White Council. Its an Action RPG and, as you may have guessed, its set in the Lord of the Rings universe.

The story of The White Council takes place 80 years before the events of the books and movies. You will create your own character and build yourself up in order to become a member of the White Council. While the game will include some original characters and locations, you’ll also meet up with and visit familiar ones from the books and films.

The team behind The White Council is the same one that did action titles The Two Towers and The Return of the King, as well as turn-based titles The Third Age and LOTR: Tactics. Steve Gray, the games executive producer, is hoping to take the best from each set of games to make The White Council entertaining to both RPG fans, as well as those who just like to non-stop combat.

Finally, a pre-rendered trailer was shown including a voice over from Gandalf himself. Gray stated that the team are aiming for “Full HD, 720p, 5.1 surround sound, with that graphic quality”

Lord of the Rings: The White Council is expected on Xbox 360 in Autumn 2007.
