Playable Xbox 360 pods at local store

Playable Xbox 360 pods at local store

Published On October 20, 2005 | By Russ Clow | News

News has come in today that Wal-Mart, an American retail store, are the first store to have playable Xbox 360’s on display, as of TODAY!

The playable pods feature demo’s of Call of Duty 2, Kameo and King Kong.  They also have looping videos of other games due for release.  Aparently, a Microsoft representative just walked into his local Wal-Mart store and decided to set up the 360’s in the stores around America!  Typical.

For our American readers, we’ve managed to get a list (thanks to Joystiq) of all the confirmed Wal-Mart stores who do have a 360 pod in-store.  For those elsewhere, we’ll all just have to sit around and grumble under our breath about how we’re always forgotton…

If you live near any of these Wal-Marts, get your backside down there and start playing!  Be sure to email us when you eventually tear yourself away so we can see what you thought of it!  There’s even a section for your to plug in your 360 memory card and download extra content for your home 360, which we’re sure will come in handy when the 360 is released!

Oh and by the way, our recent news story about the huge power-lump has been confirmed as a random power adapter.  How do we know?  Well the 360 pod power adapters are alot smaller in Wal-Mart!

UPDATE 22:06: Yes dammit we work waaaaaaay into the night!  In-fact, we’re all robots, we don’t need sleep.  Anyway, for you lovely American’s, we’ve got more great news.  Cant be bothered to read through that list?  Well just head over to http://www.risingconcepts.com/frapper/xbox360kiosks.  This site takes advantage of a google map and lists every store that has a 360 Pod in it.  If you’re European, you can but wish for this to happen where you live!
